Our client, a burgeoning health services organization, is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist. This role involves providing comprehensive occupational therapy services both at the Center and in-home settings, aiming to enhance participant independence and functionality. Collaborating closely with Primary Care Physicians, rehabilitation teams, and other interdisciplinary team (IDT) members, the Occupational Therapist plays a crucial role in developing and restoring participant functions to improve their quality of life.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in physical therapy is required; a master’s degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
● Must hold a valid California Physical Therapy License or provide proof of eligibility.
● At least two years of experience in a clinical setting working with frail or elderly populations is preferred.
● Five years of overall Physical Therapy experience.
● Current CPR certification is preferred.
● If educated outside the US, the Physical Therapy degree must be evaluated as equivalent to US standards.
Essential Job Duties:
Perform comprehensive Physical Therapy assessments in both facility and home settings to identify the care needs, preferences, and goals of participants.
● Engage actively in IDT meetings to help develop effective participant care plans.
● Implement and document Physical Therapy interventions as per physician directives and agreed-upon care plans, focusing on exercises, muscle re-education, gait training, and functional training for activities of daily living (ADLs), utilizing modalities like massage, heat, and electrical stimulation.
● Oversee and train Therapy Assistants to ensure the proper implementation of Functional Maintenance Programs (FMP).
● Educate staff, participants, and their caregivers on the proper use and maintenance of therapeutic equipment.
